So I thought it was time...

Hello there! Welcome to my BRAND SPANKING NEW BLOG!!! ;)
Through the years I've done blogs, mostly about my crazy kids and our daily adventures. I haven't done a real....here are my thoughts....take them or leave them type of blog in a long long time. So with everything going on in my life currently, I felt it was time to start a new one, with the old habits, talk about new stuff going on in my life, and gain feedback from others who may be doing, or thinking about doing the same. When I state that, I mean things like gardening!
A little over a month ago my youngest (I will introduce you to the "kids" later on) planted our first seeds! BUSH BEANS! About 2 weeks after that as a family we started our own garden. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while, but now with the economy, gas prices, and anything else in general we planted our own. We started off with a 10x10 (by 10x10) as I like to call it, I also refer to it as "The Sod Box" only because of the amount of grass we are growing in it lol. But we planted watermelon, cucumbers, pumpkins, corn, onion, potatoes, green beans, a strawberry plant, peppers, carrots, a basil plant, oregano plant, spinach, lettuce, Tomatoes, and recently planted brocolli out of curiosity. Not to mention the growing number of container plants. Just today the kids planted cacti, daisy, broccoli, and I planted Lavender. Almost everything in our garden/container garden has started off as seeds. Only a few items were actually plants. Its been an exciting adventure so far to go out every morning and check the garden to see what has happened over night. Just this afternoon I discovered we have our first CUCUMBER!! I'm so excited! :) After all this work, if we get at least 1 item from anything, we'll be happy lol.
Anyways, thats not the only reason I'm here. I've also fallen in love the the couponing phenomenon! Now...at this point its only been a week or so, I'm no extremist. I feel that for me, stock piling isn't going to work out - between not having the space, and the fact that our central air conditioner is shot...there is no point to holding on to tons of product that will just go bad in a house that sits at a cool 89+F degrees in the summer. That would just be a waste of my money. But...on the plus side...searching, researching, printing/clipping coupons has paid off either way. I'm totally loving researching which grocery store will pay off better when I want to go shopping, gathering up coupons and sticking to what I need/want and getting deals! My last 2 trips to the grocery store have ended in about a $30-$40 savings and spending about $50 at most in the end. Now thats motivating! I may not be having money handed back to me at the check out counter like it happens in some of these new shows that have come up on TV. But walking out of the grocery store - with food for my family for the week, only spending $50 instead of $95 that makes me happy as a clam. :)
So before this first post gets too long, and you all lose interest, I should tell you that I am a 30 year old mother of 3. My oldest a daughter is 10, my middle child is almost 7 and the youngest is almost 4. Stay tuned for more stories on them...oh, the the middle and youngest are both boys...and all 3 of them are the greatest entertainment anyone ever needs on a daily basis. I don't even need television during the day when any of them are around, I save all my TV show watching for after they are in bed, and its been DVR'd to watch as they sleep! I hope you will stick around, and check out my posts...I'm sure I can keep up with this on a daily basis. Tomorrow I will introduce myself more, and give you more of a peek into my daily life ;)
Thanks for reading! :)
