So I promised that I would formally introduce myself, and my kids. As my little "intro" states I am a Wife, Mother, Photographer...and so on. Well yes, I have now been married for 7 years, been with him - he who is known as Jason - for umm...(using fingers to count) almost 12 years. We have a 10 year old daughter, almost 7 year old son, and an almost 4 year old (son/spawn/devil child) lol. Yes...you can do the math and figure out that Destini was at our wedding, I was prego with Dusten at the time we were married and Cole is "Legit" lol.
None of that matters! What matters is that we are one big happy fam, damily! So, I covered the Wife, and Mother, now on to the photographer! I've had a love for photography since I was young, starting out with my silly lil cabbage patch 110 film camera, moving forward from there to the little throw away 35mm cameras and working my way up to a decent Canon 35mm film camera after my daughter was born. From there it was the "beginning of DIGITAL!" oh ya and we had the best of the worst! lol In 2006 I was gifted a Nikon D40 for Christmas by my Mother In Law and I was INSTANTLY in love! I couldn't get enough of learning, testing, shooting. Anyone who was near by learned to either run or deal with having me snap a candid shot! After a while I realized I could make things better by editing! When my youngest was born...ohhh the photos we had taken! I loved that camera, until youngest turned 2ish and decided (bless his heart) one morning sometime in November that Mommy's camera needed a bath. Long story short...camera + expensive lens + speed flash ended up in the toilet for a bath = Tears, screams, and child lucky to still be alive. lol. By end of March the next year Hubby allowed me to order not only a new camera, but an UPGRADE! I purchased a D90 and since opening the box and holding onto that camera I have been IN LOVE! Not saying this camera hasn't had its mishaps with children, when the camera wasn't even 6 months old it had a fall due to the Middle child climbing the 5 foot tall ferret cage where the camera rested on top...and having a nasty fall. Thankfully all that was broken was the LCD screen, and the mount for my lens. Took a few weeks and a few hundred dollars to have it repaired. So at the moment my D90 has a fear of heights and of water...lol. To be expected lol. I'm no professional by any means, I learn daily between photographing....editing...and anything else. Every day is a new experience, not to mention this year I started a 365 Project - a fresh photo everyday for a whole year. At least this way my camera isn't neglected EVER! And as much as a pain it can be sometimes, I know that no matter what - I have to pick up that camera at least ONCE during the day and snap something...but 1photo (for me) is never enough lol.
Well, I'll stop here, and of course shamelessly post the link to my 365 Project/Photography website ;) www.DoreneLowePhotography.com
Stay tuned, tomorrow you shall learn more, and probably hear a few good stories out of me!
